IG Machine & Fibers Ltd. is a manufacturer of quality commercial and residential roofing products and part of the IKO Group of Companies. We presently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineering Co-op (8-month or 12-month contract) to join our team based in Brampton Ontario.

Job Description Summary :

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineering Co-op (contract position (8 or 12 month) for an employment opportunity to join our team in Brampton Ontario.

The Maintenance Engineering Intern works with their assigned manager to meet strategic corporate initiatives and executes successful capital projects.

When you join us you will :

• Work with the Plant Maintenance team (Manager Supervisors Reliability Engineer Millwrights Electricians etc.)
• Shadow Millwrights and Electricians to create maintenance SOPs and SWIs
• Assist the Reliability Engineer with a complete review of all current Preventative (PM) and Predictive (PdM) maintenance activities developing and refining tasks as required to ensure assets are properly maintained
• Perform spare parts optimization in support of PM and PdM inspection tasks for the highly critical assets
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with project management including tendering negotiating planning installation supervision of project commissioning & project closeout.
• Assist in the preparation of drawings and modeling to be included in projects.
• Work with Millwrights and Electricians to determine the best practices and ensure all vital information collected is transferred to a standard PM template and drawings are updated as required.
• Work on other engineering related projects to help with plant operations and maintenance
• Performing other duties as assigned
