Job Purpose

Responsible to organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversight of daily processing and packaging department activities on a 12‑hour basis.
• Develop and implement strategy to continuously improve employee performance, plant efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Review and communicate daily production schedule changes to line supervisors.
• Identify and continuously strive to reduce waste using GMP’s.
• Lead and be a strong advocate of quality control. Utilize visual communication to train and reinforce product specification parameters.
• Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies.
• Understand and maintain industry‑leading food safety standards in accordance with BRC and customer specific standards.
• Provide encouragement and on‑going coaching to team members.
• Follow up on validation training with line supervisors.
• Be responsible for production output.
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to set and achieve company priorities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and local requirements.
• Promote and encourage the company’s mission, vision and culture of training.
• Collaborate with line supervisors to provide training to new employees.
• Create training material for packaging and processing department to provide training for new employees.
• Review, measure, report effectiveness of training through analytical performance of each operator and / or supervisor.
• Manage the disciplinary action procedure, the performance improvement plan, and the annual Performance Review for the team.
• Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
• Approve the vacation requests.
• Carry out incident, accident and non‑conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
• Serve as a Fire Safety Team Member.
• Perform other assigned duties and manage waterlogs.
• Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
