COBOL Application Developer (Micro Focus / Oracle)

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL in Micro Focus environments.
• Create and maintain Windows scripts to support batch processing, automation, and operational tasks.
• Design, write, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects using Oracle SQL Developer.
• Analyze existing application logic and data structures to implement enhancements, fixes, and performance improvements.
• Support production systems by investigating issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing and support system and user acceptance testing activities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge transfer to ensure maintainability and compliance with standards.
• Follow development and best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
