As a Quality Assurance Inspector at Smiths Interconnect you will inspect products, processes, equipment and employees to ensure compliance with the company’s regulatory policies, procedures and specifications.

The person ensures that all products leaving the facility meet our quality standards and our customer’s expectations / requirements.

You will also be required to work in a clean room environment with appropriate protective garments.

Responsibilities

  • In line inspection and data collection
  • Uses a magnifying glass to inspect tiny products
  • Uses a micrometer regularly
  • Incoming inspection of raw materials
  • Final / outgoing inspection
  • Works using key cards, written procedures, manuals, drawings and other verbal and written instructions detailing product performance criteria.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and delicate equipment to ensure all our products are tested / sorted and within specifications.
  • Visual inspection of products (possibly using microscope) to company specifications.
  • Some mechanical assembly to finalize product after determining performance / quality criteria.
  • Serialization of product
  • Custom labeling
  • Ability to follow documented data collection process and store appropriate data as needed.
  • Preparing Certificates of Compliance and any other customer requested test information
  • Putting finished product into pre-pack boxes / trays for transfer to Stores
  • Accomplish shipping targets as established by the company
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma Required, DEC in Electronics or another relevant field is an asset.

Minimum of 3 years of experience related to Quality.

Thorough knowledge of IPC-A-610 acceptance criteria preferred.

Able to read Mechanical and schematic footprint drawings.

Able to use standard metrology equipment (i.e., calipers, micrometer and height gauge)

Use the ERP system to electronically process inspection.

Candidates must be energetic, proactive and be a team player that can take ownership of their tasks

A high degree of concentration and close visual attention for sustained periods as well as very close attention to

Advanced organizational skills and time management

Communicate in English & French (spoken and written)

Microsoft Office skills (Word / Excel / Outlook)
