Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Animal Nutritionist with expertise in small animal nutrition (specifically dogs and cats) to join our multidisciplinary care team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of animal health and nutrition, and experience designing and implementing tailored diets for animals with a wide range of needs and chronic health conditions.

About Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary

Dog Tales is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario. Our picturesque location - complete with walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa - is the perfect setting for abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for forever homes. Along with medical care, our team provides all of the love, attention, and training that our rescue animals need to recover from their difficult pasts, so that they can move on to permanent, loving homes, which most do. For the rest, Dog Tales is home for as long as they need it to be.

The Role

We are committed to providing our animals with the highest standard of nutrition, centered around freshly prepared, home-cooked meals. To support this, we are looking for a professional who can:

• Develop and advise on nutritionally balanced meal plans
• Recommend appropriate supplements where necessary
• Determine correct portion sizes based on individual needs (age, breed, health status)
• Ensure all feeding practices align with current veterinary and nutritional standards
• Research and advise on new dietary supplements and therapeutic herbs (including Eastern Medicine and other traditions) to support canine health and wellbeing.

What You Bring

• Degree or certification in animal nutrition or a related field>
• A strong belief in clean, natural, whole-food-based nutrition for animals

Salary

The salary for this position starts at $50,000 per year.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, five days a week, with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
