Employment Status : Permanent, Part-time (0.2 FTE). Program Name : Home Support. Number of Hours Bi-Weekly : 16. Work Schedule : Days, Evenings (Weekends Only). Union / Bargaining Unit : NSGEU. On Call : No. Locations : Annapolis and Kings County, NS. Existing Vacancy : Yes - we are currently hiring candidates for an existing vacancy in this position. Funding is available through the Department of Health and Wellness for the Recognized Prior Learning (RPL) Program.

What is the RPL Program?

The CCA-RPL program recognizes knowledge, skills, and attitudes gained through on-the-job training, formal education, and life experiences to be assessed for credit awarded towards CCA program education. For more information about the program and available funding, please contact :

Funding is also available for the Continuing Care Assistant Program at community colleges across Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia Government covers tuition and most program costs for eligible applicants. Please contact your local college for more details.

Working conditions and physical demands :

This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
