We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Business / Data Analyst to join our Systems team. In this role, you will act as a bridge between business units, developers, and external partners to translate business needs into actionable insights and system solutions. Leveraging your expertise in SQL, reporting, and business processes, you will analyze data, optimize workflows, and support process and system improvements.
Duties And Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration
Actively participate as a member of the Systems group to understand national and cross‑departmental business processes.Facilitate cross‑functional process improvements and assist with project prioritization.Develop strong working relationships with internal business stakeholders and external partners.Liaise between internal business users, developers, and external partners to create clear business requirement documents.Data Analysis & Reporting
Use advanced SQL skills to conduct detailed process analyses, investigate cause‑effect relationships, identify root causes, summarize findings, and develop action plans.Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly analyses to management and stakeholders.Update and maintain reporting metrics to ensure accuracy and relevance.Synthesize and distill large volumes of data into actionable insights and reports.Complete ad‑hoc reporting requests from various teams in a timely manner.Continuously identify opportunities to improve reporting practices and processes.Systems Expertise & Technical Support
Act as an application subject matter expert and IT advocate for business areas.Provide guidance to identify and prioritize projects, define new processes, and implement system or business process changes.Produce detailed business specifications and test cases, translate them into technical requirements, and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and subject matter experts.Analyze Java, COBOL program sources, and SQL queries to support troubleshooting and solution development.Process Improvement & Best Practices
Develop and maintain standardized work processes and best practices to drive operational efficiency.Assist with related training initiatives to support knowledge transfer and adoption of new processes.Provide project status updates and feedback to business units and leadership.General
Perform other related tasks as assigned.Required Competencies
Education & Experience
College diploma or university degree in Business, Technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Finance Analyst, or in a similar analytical role — preferably within distribution, supply chain, or operations.2+ years of advanced application support experience in a production environment.Experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner is an asset.Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Power BI.Strong SQL skills, including writing queries and understanding database structures.Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS and data warehouse environments.Solid understanding of business processes and workflows in distribution, supply chain, and operations.Analytical & Problem‑Solving
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.Proven problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Communication & Collaboration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Collaborative team player with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse stakeholders.Work Style
