Summary
Primary responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the delivery and pickup of rental equipment, supporting on-site setup and teardown activities, and ensuring all equipment meets operational, safety, and quality standards. This position emphasizes administrative documentation, inspection, and customer coordination, while supervising pickups and drop-offs conducted by drivers or technicians. The role also includes equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and ensuring accurate tracking of all rental assets.
What You’ll Do – The Role (Responsibilities)
- Coordinate and prepare rental equipment and accessories for delivery, pickup, and future use.
- Supervise and oversee equipment deliveries, pickups, setups, and teardowns to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Provide customers with basic operating instructions and ensure satisfaction with delivered equipment.
- Inspect equipment upon return, document damage or discrepancies, and report findings to the Manager.
- Perform or coordinate basic repairs and maintenance on rental equipment as directed.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate rental documentation, including delivery, pickup, inspection, and service records.
- Support the Manager by coordinating logistics for deliveries and pickups and assisting drivers and technicians with scheduling and loading/unloading activities.
- Ensure waste oil and coolant areas are kept clean and organized; follow established procedures for the disposal of used fluids and filters.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with customers, addressing concerns and escalating issues as required.
- Promote the Company and its products while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Oversee the safe operation of Company vehicles, ensure compliance with MTO regulations, and report vehicle maintenance needs.
- Assist with general in-house duties, including warehouse organization and inventory support.
- Perform other related administrative or operational tasks associated with the Driver – Generator Technician role.
What You Need (Requirement)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Valid G license with a clean driving record. AZ/DZ is considered an asset but not required.
- Superior customer service skills and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including the consistent use of required PPE (CSA-approved “green patch” work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields/masks) and recommending additional job-related safety equipment as needed.
Working Conditions
- After hours On-Call – Required. Flexibility for emergency calls needed.
- Heavy lifting and physical exertion are required
- Ability to work irregular hours / overtime.
- Full time position plus approved OT.
- Willing to work locally and throughout the Province of Ontario.
- In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government in Ontario, be available for work.
