Aviation Painters perform all aircraft paintwork. Aircraft skin, propellers, instruments, engines, you name it! — if it needs painting, it’s the Aviation Painter’s job.
Job Description
- Surface preparation, including stripping sanding, polishing, masking, cleaning. coating, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Familiarity with different types of paints, primers, and coatings used in the aerospace industry (, epoxy, polyurethane, etc.)
- Do stenciling, ink stamping spray painting, Electrostatic painting, and HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spraying.
- Set up the painting equipment and maintain it in good operating condition.
- Proficiency in using spray guns, brushes, and rollers to apply paint evenly and accurately.
Qualifications
Diploma of professional / technical studies in aeronautical / industrial painting or equivalent.Minimum experience of 1 to 3 years in aeronautical painting or any other relevant experience (automotive, industrial painting).Knowledge of various painting methods, such as spray painting, HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spraying and application of Electrostatic paint.Experience with painting fiberglass pieces and sanding.Ability to inspect work for imperfections and ensure that the finished product meets strict quality standardsCollaboration skills to work efficiently with other professionals in the aviation field.Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand project requirements.Respect health, safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials.Additional Information
