Aviation Painters perform all aircraft paintwork. Aircraft skin, propellers, instruments, engines, you name it! — if it needs painting, it’s the Aviation Painter’s job.

Job Description

  • Surface preparation, including stripping sanding, polishing, masking, cleaning. coating, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion
  • Familiarity with different types of paints, primers, and coatings used in the aerospace industry (, epoxy, polyurethane, etc.)
  • Do stenciling, ink stamping spray painting, Electrostatic painting, and HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spraying.
  • Set up the painting equipment and maintain it in good operating condition.
  • Proficiency in using spray guns, brushes, and rollers to apply paint evenly and accurately.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of professional / technical studies in aeronautical / industrial painting or equivalent.
  • Minimum experience of 1 to 3 years in aeronautical painting or any other relevant experience (automotive, industrial painting).
  • Knowledge of various painting methods, such as spray painting, HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spraying and application of Electrostatic paint.
  • Experience with painting fiberglass pieces and sanding.
  • Ability to inspect work for imperfections and ensure that the finished product meets strict quality standards
  • Collaboration skills to work efficiently with other professionals in the aviation field.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand project requirements.
  • Respect health, safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials.
