POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating all activities associated with keeping production on schedule using proven materials processes.
Materials Coordinators are also responsible for inventory management to maintain the integrity of inventory records.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Coordinate materials functions in a cell concept setting within a team environment including materials, manufacturing engineering, production and quality
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business objectives
- Responsible for job accuracy; maintaining accuracy of 500 series requirements, accuracy of reject requirements, performing cell audits and maintaining accuracy of various records
- Responsible for ensuring accurate implementation of Engineering Change Orders to released jobs
- Assist in the development, communication and deployment of departmental policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes
- Assist in maintaining the Material department budget with indirect labour, overtime, materials supplies, communication devices, and travel
- Drive the reduction of inventory adjustments
- Monitor and coordinate interdepartmental material flow
- Assist the shipping team on picking open requisitions to ship within 24 hours
- Ensure all staging areas are empty at the end of the shift
- Monitor and reduce negatives to zero, monitor line entry schedule and part status prior to and during the build process
- Problem solving various areas including uncontrollable items, cross training, maintaining sub-inventories, and maintaining inter-organizational communication
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :
- APICS certification or currently enrolled in the APICS program an Asset
- Exceptional Excel skills with analytical strengths
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment
- 1 - 3 years of previous experience
- Previous manufacturing experience
