Position Purpose

Reporting to the AR Manager, the Collection Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the Collection function in accordance with business guidelines and respective policies and procedures.

Responsibilities :

  • Monitor all collections activities, review delinquent accounts and take timely and appropriate action to reduce collection risk and maximize total collections.
  • Evaluate high risk accounts to implement recommendations for resolution.
  • Make recommendations to the credit department on any account where financial risks are identified such as downtrends on DSO.
  • Professional handling of customer inquiries, including providing detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required and resolving payment disputes.
  • Participate in automation and process improvement initiative projects.
  • Perform month end measurements and implement appropriate action plans on unsatisfactory items.
  • Update various reports related to collection activities and ensure departmental KPIs are being maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations and provide all necessary documentation for various audits.
  • Provide training, coaching and support to collection team.
  • Drive a service-oriented environment for internal / external customers ensuring SLA s are delivered timely and accurately .

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required in accounts receivable, cash posting or collections.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to use own judgement and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office Suite products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes initiative and approaches work with persistence.
  • Highly motivated and Customer focused (internal and external)
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills, positive attitude and teamwork driven.
  • Experience with AS400, JD Edwards, and High Radius would be an asset.
