YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES :
Provide leadership and oversight for the community services team to achieve meeting or exceeding departmental and organizational goalsDevelop expertise in all community service programs and support them as necessaryEstablish risk management policies and procedures for volunteer management and service delivery, including liability concernsBuild and maintain partnerships with the National Office, other Councils, Government agencies, NGOs, and community and emergency organizationsEnsure volunteers have access to necessary resources and promote a supportive environment that results in a high level of volunteer engagement and retentionRepresent the Council on national committees and relevant external boards to advance strategic goals, foster innovation and continuous improvement in programs and impactManage the human resources of the department to include staff and volunteers, performance measurement and evaluation, employee relations and compliance with internal policiesWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES :
Post Secondary Degree in Community Development, Recreation Management, NGO Management or related studiesMinimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a Not for Profit leading a diverse group of volunteers across multiple programsPrior experience working in a Not-for-Profit position that is community basedAbility to obtain and hold certification as Medical First ResponderPassionate, decisive and open communicatorProven team collaborator and big picture thinkerExcellent organizational and decision-making skills
