Position Description
Working alongside a team of administrative staff and healthcare professionals, you will engage with a large portfolio of patients. This role will work very closely with the doctor to provide the best possible care to the patients through coordination and communication.
As the Medical Administrator/Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for ensuring the clinic is continuously running smoothly. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Answering patient calls and scheduling or rescheduling appointments
- Greeting patients upon arrival and administering any necessary paperwork
- Updating patient files with medical history, insurance information, etc.
- Process payments when required
- Ensure office supplies are tracked, ordered and stored appropriately
- Receive shipments of medication and office supplies
- Answer patient inquiries, concerns, etc.
- Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and schedule off-site services
- Work with referring doctors’ offices to obtain patient charts and history
Experience
- 3 + years of experience working in a busy medical office
- 3+ years working in the role of medical administrator, medical receptionist, office manager within a busy clinic setting
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education required
- Advanced diploma in Medical Administration/Medical Secretary is a strong asset
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
Education
- Minimum completion of high school diploma
- Advanced diploma in Medical Administration/Medical Secretary a strong asset
