About CASA House

You will be part of a team that provides individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings. CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and / or addiction challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months.

Job Details

Salary / Wage range : $40.20 - $50.95

Vacation : 15 Vacation Days

Shift structure : Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day. Shift rotation includes days and evenings

About the Role

The Recreation Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic recreation services in functional intervention, leisure education and recreation participation. Responsible for assessing the patient’s recreation and leisure needs, developing treatment plans and providing therapeutic programs / activities to meet these needs. This role can include guidance, support, supervision and case management to children, adolescents and their families in CASA programming.

The Recreation Therapist will :

• Completes recreation therapy assessments on clients and evaluates needs and capabilities to determine goals and treatment plans.
• Screens, assesses and treats patients individually and / or in groups.
• Facilitates, instructs and motivates clients in therapeutic recreation activities.
• Evaluates patient progress and intervention modalities and modifies treatment plan as required.
