Job Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you will operate on-site to perform preventative maintenance, repair equipment, and install replacement parts related to RYKO, MacNeil, Belanger and competitor's vehicle wash equipment and accessories. The Service Technician will also train customers on basic equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective action
- Replace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessary
- In accordance with preventative maintenance contracts, inspect, lubricate, and check wax and detergent levels as applicable
- Run equipment through cycles to ensure the complete system is functioning properly
- Advise customers of necessary service work and make recommendations regarding replacement of worn or damaged parts, systems, etc.
- After installation, inspect equipment to ensure proper function
- Provide information and training to customers regarding proper operation and general maintenance of equipment
- Develop and maintain good rapport with customers, striving to provide outstanding service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customers as needed
- Complete work orders, expense reports, and daily/weekly time logs
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through manuals, service bulletins and how-to videos in our LMS or engineering documents
- Maintain proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse; report field inventory levels as required
- Keep Service and District Manager informed of significant problems, progress, or barriers to success
- Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, POST and other regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
- Other duties as assigned by the Installation/Service Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Service Technician in a related area
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations within the past 5 years; no more than 2 preventable, at-fault accidents within the past 5 years
- No impaired driving convictions within the past 10 years and no charges currently pending
- Ability to use basic math and writing skills
- Demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work through school or hobby, including using meters and AC/DC power supply
- Ability to comprehend and interpret equipment, operation, and maintenance manuals and instructions
- Ability to work independently or within a team
- Forklift experience and/or ability to obtain forklift certification
- Committed to customer satisfaction and ability to adapt to different personalities
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Intermediate computer skills; experience with Microsoft and Google Suite programs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Adequate sight to read installation and other engineering documents and/or work orders
- Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed
- Must be local to the GTA (Greater Toronto Area)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periods
Compensation and Schedule
Hourly Wage Range: $25-31 based on experience.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with rotating weekends.
