Description de posteEstablish and maintain on‑site Quality Control systems and procedures. Coordinate inspections, tests, and compliance with ITPs and WMS; ensure traceability and accuracy of results. Monitor non‑conformities, validate corrective actions, and supervise external lab tests. Implement preventive measures and control procedures to reduce quality risks before execution. Verify that all inspection breakpoints are properly lifted before proceeding with subsequent work stages. Ensure preventive measures are applied systematically to avoid recurrence of non‑conformities and maintain compliance with project standards. Plan and coordinate internal and subcontractor audits; ensure timely reporting and closure of findings. Maintain the IMS schedule and organise process inductions; develop Toolbox Talks, best practices, and quick tips. Oversee NCR / CA processes in ACONEX; ensure the completeness and accuracy of registers and dashboards. Coordinate the defining of the list of ETFs with the Execution team while providing guidance and methodology. Provide training and support for NCR / CA and ETF processes; monitor analysis and follow up on progress. Review Material Approval Requests (MAR) and ensure compliance. Verify calibration and readiness of measuring equipment for site, survey, and lab operations. Liaise with QHSE teams; ensure Quality information is available on site. Issue Quality reports, define best practices, and communicate quality alerts across the organization. Suspend the execution of the work immediately if the safety of persons or the environment is endangered, or if a critical factor is identified that could affect the final quality of the work. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field. 8‑12 years of experience in Quality Control on major projects. In‑depth knowledge of ISO standards and QHSE regulations applicable to large construction projects. Heightened ability to conduct inspections, tests, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Capacity to monitor the implementation of QHSE procedures. Proficiency in audits, scheduling, reporting, and closure of findings. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations. Flexibility to quickly adapt to a variety of situations. Annual gross compensation ranging from CAD 90,000 to CAD 115,000, depending on experience and profile. Career development opportunities. What is the project?
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve :
- A5 km‑long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM).
- Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore).
- An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.
The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.
What you will do
Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Assurance & Control Coordinator ensures site quality control through inspections, compliance, and audits; while managing non‑conformities and IMS documentation; You will collaborate notably with the construction team to oversee material compliance, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
