Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough segment research to identify potential suppliers, analyze industry trends, and assess market dynamics to make informed purchasing decisions that will feed into the Purchasing Strategy.
- Analyze pricing models, total cost of ownership, and value propositions to determine the most cost-effective purchasing solutions without compromising quality or service levels. Prepare reports and / or communication regarding outcome.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to analyze and determine purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve business model efficiency.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimization through data-driven analysis and benchmarking best practices.
- Build & maintain strong professional relationships with the supply base & internal stakeholders.
- Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
Basic Requirements
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools, specifically Excel.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems and other relevant software applications.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality.An ability to work on own initiative.Compensation
