The Mobile Facilities Technician will play a key role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of designated locations, supporting the customer service experience across multipleBC Hydro and Black & McDonald sitesbetweenMackenzie to Fort St John and Fort Nelson. This position is responsible for attending service calls, conducting building inspections, initiating corrective work orders, performing light preventive maintenance (PMs), and coordinating with external service providers (Suppliers). The technician acts as a liaison betweenBlack & McDonaldandBC Hydro District Office Managers, ensuring timely and effective resolution of facilities-related issues using thecomputerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
The Mobile Technician will support the coordination of preventative maintenance tasks and inspections for all building systems and services, and corrective repairs as required to ensure continued availability of the building spaces. The Mobile Technician will use their experience and technical skills along with our CMMS system to support our high levels of service and customer satisfaction. Duties include but are not limited to the following :
- In conjunction with the Facility Manager and the team, plan and execute planned and corrective maintenance tasks
- Organize and plan work to meet schedulesand co-ordinate work activities with other suppliers
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities of all suppliers
- Perform operational inspections, safety inspections, Site condition inspections
- Respond to work orders created in JDE, ensuring the correct assets are tagged in work completed.
- Perform light duties such as building inspections, garbage removal, snow removal, HVAC, Plumbing, and other Mechanical duties, assisting the supplier's technician's, mechanics, etc.
- Build and Maintain customer and supplier / vendor relationships
- Assist in preparing construction project budget estimates
- Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
- Ensure service reports are completed for B&M tasks along with supplier service reports entered.
- Assist in purchase of building materials
- Review work / contracts / WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
- Resolve problems and implement measures to improve productivity

4th or 5th Class Power Engineering or construction trade certification in plumbing / HVAC / Electrical is an assetWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years of experience in facilities management / mechanical / electrical service industryKnowledge and experience in building automated systems, Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC systemsSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Available to travel within the assigned region (Mackenzie to Fort Nelson and Fort St John)Available for on call standby duties and emergency out of hours call outsClean Class 5 or higher BC Driver's License and AbstractBasic computer skills and working knowledge of Excel, Word & OutlookExcellent verbal and written communications skills requiredExcellent organization and time management skills with the ability to complete work in a timely mannerAbility to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees and customersStrong problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass criminal background checkExpected compensation for this role is a starting pay range between $33.51-$35.51 / hour dependent on skills and experience.
