Role Overview
The Senior Lifeguard ensures safe delivery of scheduled aquatic programs and provides functional direction, guidance to staff and volunteers. This role reinforces safety, enforces policies, mentors staff, and oversees program delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth delivery of scheduled programs.
- Provide functional direction and guidance to staff and volunteers.
- Maintain open lines of communication with patrons, staff, and supervisors.
- Ensure safety by enforcing policies, rules, and regulations.
- Provide mentorship to staff while performing lifeguard and instructional duties.
- Assist with facility maintenance tasks and operation of aquatic programs and special events.
Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses : Acceptable combination of education, training and experience; Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification; Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification.Experience : Experience in public interaction including children; Performing lifeguard duties; Cash handling; Employee supervision; Applying policies, procedures and regulations; Preparing and conducting / instructing aquatic training sessions.Competencies : Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.Skills and Abilities : Observational skills; Communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to react and respond in emergency situations.Language requirements : English essential / bilingual (English & French) an asset; Oral : functional.Benefits Available
