Job Information
The Senior Policy Analyst provides analysis and advice in the development and modification of departmental policies, standards, procedures, and the formulation of principles and setting objectives with respect to desired policy and legislative results. This includes the development, review, and implementation of Business Plans; HR Plans; operating policies; and identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk associated with departmental activities. The position's advice and analysis plays a key role in setting direction for departmental actions and furthering the strategic goals and priorities of Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC) and the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT).
The Senior Policy Analyst participates in the review and development of policy, and strategic initiatives. The position plays a key role in ensuring a coordinated and consistent approach to departmental issues and initiatives and provides strategic advice regarding departmental plans and policies.
The Senior Policy Analyst assists in the preparation of support materials for the Minister such as briefing notes during sessions of the Legislative Assembly, briefing materials specific to policy or legislative proposals, and support to the Intergovernmental Council.
This position is located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The incumbent would be required to live and work in Yellowknife, NT. A hybrid / remote work plan is not a possibility.
