Meal Program Worker 22.5 Hours

TITLE : SCHOOL MEAL PROGRAM WORKER - 22.5 Hours

DEPARTMENT : All Schools

REPORTS TO : Principal or Designate

WAGE : $25.71 - $26.98 hourly effective July 1 2024

SUMMARY :

Under general supervision the School Meal Program Worker works with school staff and nutritionist to plan menus and to prepare and / or serve food for the schools meal program.

The School Meal Program Worker works cooperatively with other staff students and the public.

DUTIES :

• Works with the school staff and nutritionist to plan menus based on Canadas Food Guide ministry of Education guidelines and budget considerations.
• Cleans kitchen equipment and appliances as required.
• Restores kitchen equipment to cupboards shelves and drawers.
• Shops for groceries required in the program.
• Prepares cooks and serves food as required.
• Maintains inventories of supplies and equipment for meal program.
• Unpacks and stores food stuffs and supplies.
• Occasionally trains and supervises student helpers.
• Presents a well groomed appearance.
• Performs other food service functions or emergent duties.
