Position : Secondary Teacher - temporary
Assignment : General, Literacy (Gr 10-12) Indigenous Literacy and Numeracy support. Supports Indigenous students toward academic success.
Location : Correlieu Secondary School
FTE : 0.5714
Effective Dates : Commencing September 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026
Responsibilities
- Provide general teaching duties for grades 10–12 with a focus on literacy and numeracy support.
- Deliver Indigenous Literacy and Numeracy support to Indigenous students to promote academic success.
- Collaborate with professional staff to support student learning and achievement.
Qualifications
Valid BC Teaching Certificate and member in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch.Training / Specialization : Secondary Education with a major in Literacy and Numeracy.Related Teaching Experience : Recent successful experience teaching Indigenous Education.A reasonable expectation that the teacher can perform duties effectively in collaboration with other professional staff, based on skills, abilities, professional development, and classroom experience.Additional Qualifications : Knowledge of local Indigenous Community.Other : Commitment to the School Growth Plan and School Based Team.Compensation and Benefits
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. A competitive benefits package and pension are offered.
