What you’ll be doing:
You will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Medication Care Partner, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care that supports residents’ health, safety, and overall well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
What makes you a great fit?
- Administers medication according to relevant legislative requirements and policies and procedures
- Reviews residents’ Support Plans and provides assistance where indicated, with all required activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, mobility, continence management, collecting and washing laundry, sorting and storing clean laundry
- Monitors and documents residents’ vitals, weights, behavior, mobility, safety, involvement in activities as indicated on the Personalized Support Plan or any other changes and reports to appropriate Team Members
- Escorts residents to social activity programs, appointments, dining room, etc.
- Promptly answers nursing call systems
- Performing other duties as assigned Courses in gerontology, aging or dementia are an asset
What you need to know:
- Certification inPersonal Support Worker orPersonal Care Worker, or a16 hour course that covers the provision of personal care and that is recognized by the department. If you don't have this, you must bewilling to complete this course within 3 months of start date.
- Medication Administration certification, or willing to obtain before starting.
- High School Diploma.
- Basic or Standard First Aid.
- CPR Certification.
- Experience with medication administration.
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check
