Role Summary

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing pre-sales support for Managed Detection and Response to the Global sales organization as well as actively working with customers experiencing breaches through the Sophos incident response service.

What You Will Do

  • Provide support to the Global sales organization by being a subject matter expert on Sophos Managed Detection and Response, Sophos Incident Response, and Sophos Labs telemetry
  • Work with all sales and account teams to provide support via remote engagements, product demonstrations, and answer technical questions about our service offerings and threat intelligence
  • Provide light availability for weekend (night and day) rotational coverage in support of selling Sophos Incident Response Services.
  • Proactively manage and deliver technical information to customers and partners while building and maintaining key technical relationships
  • Work closely with product management and Sophos Labs to provide customer and partner feedback on features and product direction
  • Maintain an understanding of the current threat landscape and shifting threat actor tactics to advise customers and partners of warning signs
  • Deep technical knowledge of networking, endpoint security concepts, managed detection and response (MDR) and business requirements
  • Understanding of Threat Actor TTPs, Malware and Threat Hunting
  • Strong presentation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills and writing skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and thrive in a team environment
  • Knowledge of security software industry, including competitors, market needs and trends
  • This position requires supporting PST / MST time zone

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing software technical support to channel partners and end users (, designing, managing, administering, and supporting technical solutions)
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure is a plus, though not required
  • Experience selling security solutions is a plus, though not required
  • Experience with pre-sales technical support is a plus though not required
  • Deep technical knowledge of networking, endpoint security concepts, managed detection and response (MDR), and business requirements
  • Strong presentation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills and writing skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and thrive in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the security software industry, including competitors, market needs, and trends
  • Familiarity with Sophos solutions or similar competitive products is a plus
  • Certifications in networking, security, or cloud space are a plus
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • In Canada, the base salary for this role ranges from $123,200 to $205,100. In addition to the base pay, there's a component for target sales commissions alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
