Our client located in the Hamilton area has an immediate opportunity for a Director of Finance to join their team! This role will work collaboratively with the CFO, effectively leading the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
The Director of Finance will oversee the full accounting process including the monthly accounting cycle, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, ensuring business policies, accounting standards, and profit objectives are met.
Hybrid work arrangement : 4 days in-office, 1 day remote.

Responsibilities :
- Supervise all aspects of finance and accounting functions, this includes effectively supporting the finance team
- Lead the process of producing accurate and timely monthly financial statements to analyze and report on financial performance
- Develop and implement effective accounting policies, internal control policies and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of strategic plans
- Coordinate the company’s year-end closing and external review
- Act as a point of contact for the CRA and external auditors
- Manage audits, investigations, reviews of corporate tax, HST remittances and annual external reviews and audits
- Serve as Project Manager for any system implementation or upgrades
- Additional duties as required for optimal performance of the organization
Job Requirements
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting and CPA designation is required
- Minimum of 5 years of financial leadership experience
- Strong system skills are essential for success in this position, prior experience with system implementation and / or upgrades is required.
- Hands on knowledge of SAGE / ACCPAC is strongly preferred.
- This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
