About this opportunity :

The Quality Engineering Intern will work on the quality team to support first article reports to our customers, ensuring that products meet all customer specifications and drawings.

Preferred Skills :

Engineering principles and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent time management skills

Ability to work well in a team environment

Ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications

Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work effectively autonomously once trained

Activities :

Ensure product compliance to customer requirements

Perform comprehensive verification to ensure products comply with all customer requirements, specifications, and drawings

Compile First Article Inspection reports for various customers

Participate in resolving customer, supplier, and internal quality issues promptly and efficiently

Participate in product quality improvements, and monitoring and reporting quality performance

Participating in Product Quality Planning : Identifying critical product quality requirements, potential risk areas, and ensuring appropriate measures are in place

Participate in regular internal quality review meetings

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include :

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Salary

The range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.

The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non-negotiable as per company policy.

Hourly Wage : $22.50-25.50 CAD / hr

Experience : No Formal Experience Required.

Education : Currently enrolled in a University Internship program completing 3rd year of a 4-year program. Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Engineering Program Preferred.

• As this role performs inspections for quality assurance purposes, your employment offer is conditional upon successfully passing both Visual Acuity and Colour Vision tests with a satisfactory score as defined by Celestica's aerospace and defence customers. This is to ensure the accurate inspection of coloured PCB board components, which is vital to the safety of end users who utilize the end product.

Additionally, as this position involves work that is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP), your employment offer is conditional upon the successful completion of a security assessment by Celestica and / or its authorized agents, per the Controlled Goods Regulations.
