Duties : Reporting to the Regional Forester, the Senior Forest Technician - Timber Administration is responsible for the delivery and evaluation of timber administration, timber tracking and timber management projects in the region. The Senior Forest Technician will be the lead auditor of regional timber operations and the lead regional timber scaler for audit scaling, verification and factor sampling.
The Senior Forest Technician leads a team of technicians and ensures that timber harvesting is supervised, appropriate practices are employed and timber is tracked. The position provides liaison and technical support on all aspects of the Forest Act and other associated legislation for enforcement. The Senior Forest Technician assists the Forester in the development of budget estimates for program delivery and administration of allocated financial resources.
