Duration :
24 months + possible 12-month extension
Security Clearance : Top Secret
This role focuses on maintaining and improving technology infrastructure, including updating roadmaps, enhancing business continuity, disaster recovery plans and ensuring compliance with security standards. Key responsibilities include integrating technology solutions, monitoring industry trends, performing impact analyses, supporting technical teams, renewing Authorization to Operate (ATO) and evaluating AI solutions for implementation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Update the Technology Roadmap and Implementation Plan to maintain and improve network operational readiness in alignment with approved plans.
Maintain and enhance the overall Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
Implement physical Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure at the designated off-site DR facility.
Create and update security-related documentation as required by the Government Security Plan and Communications Security Establishment (CSE).
Ensure integration of all aspects of chosen technology solutions.
Monitor industry trends to align solutions with government and industry technology directions.
Perform impact analysis of technology changes.
Provide support to application and technical teams for proper application of existing infrastructure.
Review application, program and technical infrastructure designs to ensure adherence to standards and recommend performance improvements.
Lead evaluation and analysis of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, including feasibility studies, business plans, cost analysis and implementation.
Lead efforts to renew Authorization to Operate (ATO), including :
Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and documentation.
Creating new compliance documentation as required.
Verifying compliance with CSSS-100 requirements.
Implementing or overseeing system changes to ensure compliance.
What You Bring to the Table
10+ years of experience as a Technology Architect.
4+ years of experience working on a classified system for the Government of Canada.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in a classified network production environment.
Experience creating new compute infrastructures or migrating existing infrastructures based on VMware Suite products.
Strong knowledge of VMware Enterprise Virtualization Infrastructure (VirtualCenter / vCenter, vSphere / ESX) in production environments.
Experience advising on IT security issues, including participation in Security Auditing and Assurance (SA&A) and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
Proficiency in network technologies and concepts such as routing, subnets, and VLANs.
Experience administering Microsoft Server 2016 or above, including Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
Expertise in deploying and hardening Windows 7 or above desktop operating systems in enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience with SAN technologies and storage solutions.
Ability to deploy and manage centralized enterprise antivirus systems (Symantec Endpoint Protection, McAfee ePO / Trellix ePO).
Experience planning, deploying, and administering VDI environments using VMware View or VMware Horizon.
Experience working with firewalls and implementing secure configurations.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification at level 6.0 or higher.
