The Coordinator, Clinical Information validates and verifies organ and tissue referral and donor data, follows up with internal and external stakeholders on the information needed to complete records, works with management and clinical staff to identify and suggest solutions to improve data entry quality and practices, and performs other administrative functions as required.
Here is what you will be doing :
Data management - validates and verifies donor, referral, and recovery information.
Provides Administrative support to ensure the organ and tissue duties
Uses Tableau / SQL server to extract and generate reports for missing and inaccurate information.
Follows up with internal and external stakeholders regarding the information needed to complete data.
Produces reports on data completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Works with TGLN clinical staff and management team to identify and suggest solutions to improve data entry compliance.
Works with Informatics on investigations into data anomalies and completeness by auditing donor cases when requested.
Educates the Quality team on organ and tissue verification and validation for all cases.
Assigns and provides clarification on data entry requirements to PRC staff on an ad hoc basis.
Provides feedback to the management team on organ and tissue performance related to quality of data entry.
Keeps up to date on information impacting their role by attending staff meetings and refresher education sessions as applicable.
Validates data including referral and approach details.
Assists with the development and maintenance of the database user manual and other information sources used by clinical team members related to data entry
Scans and indexes loose reports / documents into the electronic medical record.
Prepares requests for bringing paper records from off-site storage and notifies when charts can be returned as needed.
Manages sign-out sheet for paper organ charts removed from chart room.
Validates ORNGE monthly invoices.
Works with the Director and Manager of Organ and Tissue to respond to data requests and produces various system-generated reports and ad-hoc reports
Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety / Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
Here is what you will need to be successful :
Education and Experience
Diploma in Health Information Management; Medical Office Administration, or a Health-related field is required.
Background in organ and tissue donation is an asset.
Knowledge and Skills
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related role or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
Experience in a medical office or hospital environment is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology is preferred.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Demonstrates exceptional reviewing, proofreading, editing, and technical writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated understanding of privacy laws protecting personal health information.
Proven ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Experience in the not-for-profit environment is an asset.
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Microsoft Access and Microsoft
