Planer Technician / Millwright Certified Industrial Mechanic / Millwright

Overview

Interfor is seeking skilled, dependable and safety-minded team players to join our Castlegar BC division as a Planer Technician / Millwright Certified Industrial Mechanic / Millwright. Starting wage for this position with a Millwright Red Seal Certification is $50.117 per hour. Location : Castlegar, British Columbia. Employment type : Full Time.

Responsibilities

• Observe planer machine operation and adjust controls to ensure highest quality and production standards.
• Perform routine / preventative maintenance on all planer machine equipment.
• Maintain planer cutter heads and knives.
• Operate in a safe and productive manner to prevent injuries.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in and around the work area.
• Perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance of Planermill and Kilns equipment.
• Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Work in conjunction with maintenance and operations personnel to maximize machine center performance and improvements.
