With the continued growth in the industry, Scotlynn is currently seeking an experienced Claims Team Lead at our Corporate Office. This role is designed for an insurance professional who is ready to step into a hands-on leadership position. You will lead the end-to-end claims lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance across transportation operations.

THE ROLE
The Claims Team Lead is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of claims filed by customers or third parties, working to minimize company liability while ensuring fair and timely settlements. In addition to claims ownership, this role supports safety initiatives and process improvements, serving as a key bridge between operations, drivers, insurance partners, and leadership.
As our Claims team continues to grow, we are hiring for multiple roles across varying levels of experience. ABOUT YOU
Successful Scotlynn Candidates Have :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with proven time management, organizational, and leadership capabilities
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in insurance, claims, or risk management (transportation or trucking preferred)
- Previous work experience as an Insurance Adjuster, Commercial Auto Claims Adjuster, or Transportation Claims Representative is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of auto liability, cargo, and third-party claims
- Solid understanding of claims documentation, liability evaluation, and compliance requirements
- Confidence working with insurance carriers, adjusters, drivers, and leadership
- Ability to manage multiple open claims, audits, and priorities simultaneously
- Experience investigating incidents and resolving safety and liability concerns
- Proficiency with claims, safety, or compliance systems (e.g., Samsara) and Microsoft Office
- High level of discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information
- Interest in mentoring others and contributing to best practices and process improvement

Manage the full claims lifecycle through resolutionInvestigate auto, cargo, and liability claims, gathering statements, documentation, and evidenceCoordinate directly with insurance carriers, adjusters, brokers, and legal partnersEvaluate liability exposure and recommend settlement strategies aligned with company risk tolerancePrepare detailed incident and loss reports, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsAct as a key liaison between Safety, Logistics, Operations, and external stakeholdersTrack and analyze claims trends, loss drivers, and safety metrics to support prevention strategiesSupport safety audits, compliance initiatives, and internal training programsMaintain accurate records related to claims, audits, training, and regulatory reportingProvide guidance and support to drivers and internal teams on incident reporting and safety protocolsEscalate emerging risks and trends to leadership with clear, data-backed recommendationsWHAT WE OFFER
