Role Description
Reporting directly to the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent, the E&I Supervisor will oversee a crew of tradespeople throughout the mill, providing leadership in the areas of safety, housekeeping, productivity, quality, and best practices.
They will play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.
The E&I Supervisor will also collaborate closely with other department leaders to optimize operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Leading and supervising a team of unionized tradespeople.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and instrumentation issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Planning, scheduling, and managing E&I projects.
- Managing contractors and suppliers as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Staying current with innovative technologies and best practices in the field.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of mill operational strategies.
- Supporting the production team by ensuring electrical and instrumentation systems operate efficiently.
Your qualifications include :
- A bachelor’s degree or other completed 2-year (minimum) post-secondary program in Engineering or another technical discipline and / or a Red Seal in an Electrical / Instrumentation trade.
- 3+ years experience in Pulp & Paper or another industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of CMMS software (experience with JD Edwards E1 is an asset).
- Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
- Effective communication, organization, and people skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
