Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Registered Dietitian to support the team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC.

As a Clinical Dietitian with Vancouver Coastal Health you will :

  • Work in a team-based environment and provide clinical dietetic services to patient care programs through the assessment, planning, implementing and outcome evaluation of nutritional goals and care plans.
  • Collaborate with members of the health care team and participate in practice-based research projects.

Education & Experience :

  • Baccalaureate in Dietetics or Nutritional Science from an accredited university.
  • Graduate of Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship Program, certification as a Diabetes Educator or equivalent education, training and experience as approved by the College of Dietitians of BC.
  • Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).

    • Knowledge & Abilities :

  • Broad knowledge of clinical dietetic theory and practice within a patient and family-centred model of care.
  • Broad knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practitioners established by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • Broad knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess patient responses to care plan, and to respond appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, other health care professionals, patients and their families, and external agencies.
