Platform Engineer

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer – 6-Month Contract (High Renewal Potential!)

Security Clearance : Must be eligible for or hold Protected B clearance

You’ll work with a high-impact team building and maintaining mission-critical platform frameworks supporting enterprise-scale operations.

Looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to support, maintain, and evolve our core platform frameworks. In this role, you’ll work closely with architecture, automation, and delivery teams to ensure platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

You’ll take ownership of complex platforms end-to-end—from design and build through deployment, optimization, and Tier 3 support—while mentoring other engineers and contributing to long-term platform roadmaps.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Build, deploy, and maintain highly available, resilient, and high-performance platforms

Design platform architectures with a focus on disaster recovery, scalability, and security

Create build configurations and automate deployments across environments

Partner with Architecture teams during analysis and design decisions

Test platform resiliency, validate functionality, and troubleshoot complex issues

Tune platforms for optimal performance and document procedures

Collaborate with automation teams to develop CI / CD and deployment automation

Maintain platform currency through patching and security updates

Provide Tier 3 support and technical leadership during outages

Develop and maintain platform documentation, workflows, and recovery procedures

Contribute to and maintain platform roadmaps

Coach, mentor, and train platform engineers and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

5–7 years of hands-on experience administering and owning (not just using) at least one of the following platforms :

WSO2 (strongly preferred)

GitLab

Proven experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes, preferably OpenShift

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Must meet Protected B security clearance requirements

Additional Experience & Technical Background

6–9 years working with automation platforms (e.g., GitLab, Ansible Tower, UiPath, Artifactory)

3–5 years of middleware and technology infrastructure experience

6–9 years supporting web applications

3–5 years of private and / or public cloud experience

Hands-on development / scripting experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Git)

Experience with identity management solutions (WSO2, ADFS)

Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and deployment workflows

Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems

Understanding of relational and non-relational databases

Knowledge of information security standards (PCI, SOC 1 / 2)

Exposure to SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) and monitoring solutions

Education

Post-secondary diploma or university degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
