Intermediate Professional, Project Coordination
WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Project Coordinator to join our Building Structures group, located in offices within the GTA. This is a full‑time permanent position for a self‑motivated, energetic, and organized individual who will become trained in various aspects of our day‑to‑day operations related to project coordination, oversight of activities, resolving issues, reporting, team support, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Supports managers and project teams in organizing, performing, tracking and reporting project activities.
- Prepares workplans and assists in preparation of proposals for ongoing pursuit or newly awarded projects.
- Reviews and understands project drawings and specifications; drafts and understands technical project documents and contract correspondence.
- Schedules: reviews, tracks progress, and communicates progress to managers and team members.
- Procurement: initiates subcontracts and suppliers, orders, reviews payment certificates/invoices, and works with procurement, management & team members.
- Maintains budgets and forecasts.
- Tracks all manner of project statistics and information. Organizes, saves, and reports information to managers and team members.
- Has experience working on project delivery models such as DBB, DB, or PDB.
- Coordinated communication and organization among internal and external stakeholders.
- Drafts invoices for review by management based on contract payment structures.
- Organizes, schedules, coordinates, and initiates upcoming project work.
- Plans and organizes project meetings and events.
- Performs administrative duties as required.
- Represents WSP to clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other internal groups.
Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in a coordination, administration, or management position.
- Extensive experience in buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with major projects including industrial, municipal, and transit building/structures.
- Experience with a variety of transit entities such as Toronto Transit Commission, Metrolinx, VIA Rail, GTAA, and other transit organizations is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited university.
