Controller

Our client in the professional services sector is currently seeking an experienced Controller to support them for an 18-month contract engagement.

Reporting to the CFO, your responsibilities will include :

• Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project analysis and treasury management.
• Identify and drive process improvements. Develop and implement financial policies & procedures and ensure alignment with organizational strategic goals.
• Collaborate with other functional leads to support operational and strategic initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate operation and financial risks, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations; maintain current knowledge of applicable standards & regulation and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Prepare regular management reports, consolidated finance statements in accordance with ASPE, and produce ad hoc reports as required.
• Coordinate budget and forecast preparation.
• Conduct financial analysis, monitor trends to provide insights for decision-making and track budget variances.
• Manage external and internal audits, including responding to auditor requests.
• Oversee monthly sales and use tax, NR4 withholding tax and annual tax filings.
• Lead and mentor finance staff, fostering professional development and team cohesion.
• Performing other responsibilities as required.

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 10+ years of progressive accounting & Controllership experience.
