The Program

Reporting to the Director of Employment & Social Enterprise we are seeking a hands-on Crew Supervisor to lead our new renovation and maintenance Social Enterprise that supports our mission of creating safe, welcoming spaces. As we build and grow this start-up initiative, we need someone who can pivot, take initiative, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Youll work closely with a small team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role is ideal for someone with trade experience who enjoys mentoring others, solving problems, and making a tangible impact in the community.

The Position

• Lead renovation and repair work including painting, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Assign daily tasks, supervise crew members, and provide on-the-job training and mentorship to staff and crew workers
• Plan and organize job tasks and crew schedules to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Coordinate material orders, tools, and supplies required for each project.
• Liaise with tradespeople, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers when required.
• Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations and safe work practices.
• Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and internal staff regarding project progress and timelines.
• Track material purchases, maintain project documentation, and support estimates and invoicing in coordination with CJHS administrative and finance teams.
• Provide regular business updates to the Director of Employment & Social Enterprise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in renovation, construction, or building maintenance.
• Proven experience supervising a small team or crew.
• Comfortable using mobile devices (phone/tablet) and computers for scheduling, communication and job tracking.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
