Our core product, PixaBerry, is a proprietary robotic strawberry harvester. Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced engineer with a passion for solving real industrial, mechanical, and technical problems using sensors, actuators, embedded processors, and coding. This multifaceted position focuses on mechatronics, robotics, electronics, 3D design, and printing.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Design and develop advanced robotic arms and grippers.
  • Design and develop an autonomous robotic ground vehicle capable of navigating difficult terrain and carrying heavy loads autonomously.
  • Design new robot parts such as actuators and complex mechanisms.
  • Conduct prototype testing of novel designs and validate them for industrial use.
  • Create detailed documentation for all designs and processes.
  • Utilize advanced 3D printing and CNC techniques for part fabrication.
  • Design lower-level components such as electromechanical actuators.
  • Support robot deployment and scalability.
  • Communicate with robot operators to build requirements.
  • Design and print 3D-printed parts.
  • Learn about data management, machine learning, and code deployment.
  • Help improve the efficiency of robot assembly.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience with 3D printing (FDM, SLA, SLS).
  • Experience leading or contributing to robotics competition teams is highly valued.
  • Good experience with complex mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design paradigms like Top-Down, Bottom-Up, etc.
  • Prior experience with robotics actuator / gearbox design.
  • Prior experience with robotic hardware / industrial automation is an asset.
  • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) is an asset.
  • Some experience with electrical systems (wiring harnesses, PCB integration).
  • Your portfolio should be included in the application.
