Civilian Physician – Specialized

Through our Health Services Contract, Calian hires healthcare professionals who contribute to the health and well-being of our military personnel across Canada.

Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a civilian Physician with specialized training, to practice at the medical clinic at CFB Comox on a part-time basis. Pay range between $200 - $228 / hour

Responsibilities

• Assess fitness for duty, including pre- and post-deployment evaluations, periodic medical exams, recruitment medical exams, hazardous trade assessments, and evaluations following injury or illness
• Diagnose and treat work-related or environmental injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation
• Determine medical employment limitations, approve or recommend sick leave, and assign or recommend changes to medical category in accordance with policies
• Maintain occupational health records (electronic medical records and other forms of documentation)
• Provide comprehensive primary care to patients with chronic or acute health issues, including referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
• Provide clinical supervision and oversight to other members of the health care team within the clinic, including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Technicians, and Primary Care Nurses
• Other associated tasks relevant to this occupational group
