YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Survey Supervisor, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will be responsible for marking up development lines, doing development pick-ups, long-hole drill ring mark-ups, CMS surveys, drill hole gyro tests, updating survey drawing, issuing survey plans and doing month-end calculations. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Survey control points advanced, data downloaded and entered into Deswik or other related programs;
  • Update all Deswik level plans on an as-needed basis;
  • Provide reference tools for the mine department to operate effectively and accurately;
  • Issue development heading updates;
  • Survey production hole toes and collars and perform gyro tests to support drill and blast design;
  • Survey all diamond drill holes, service holes and others as requested;
  • Perform cavity monitor surveys of all stopes, raises, etc.;
  • Provide survey support to operations in both underground and surface locations;
  • Track and report the monthly advance of mine development and rehabilitation;
  • Measure ore and concentrate stockpiles on a bi-monthly basis;
  • Perform routine check surveys to ensure precision and accuracy are maintained in all mine survey data and control points;
  • Keep track of required survey equipment calibration and repairs;
  • Complete all survey month-end calculations accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Survey / Engineering Technical Diploma (2 years or greater required) or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in underground operating mine sites;
  • Proficiency with Deswik or other underground mining survey and design software;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Reliable and self-managing;
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment;
  • Working knowledge of mine design software is an asset (Deswik, AutoCAD, Promine);
  • Knowledge of total station settin;
  • Ability to use and calibrate associated survey equipment;
  • Valid G class license;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
