Our client in the auto manufacturing space is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor on a fulltime/perm basis Leads and supervises skilled trades to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant and production equipment while driving uptime, quality, and continuous improvement.
Location: Belleville - on site
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support millwrights, electricians, welders, and apprentices across multiple shifts
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime through preventative maintenance, repairs, and proactive problem solving
- Enforce all safety policies, conduct incident investigations, and drive corrective actions
- Coordinate internal maintenance activities and external contractors for equipment and facility repairs
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and reliability best practices
- Track maintenance performance metrics and implement action plans to improve efficiency and quality
- Maintain maintenance records, timekeeping, and overtime requirements
- Provide technical support to cross-functional teams and Manufacturing Engineering
- Support new equipment reviews, vendor visits, and equipment standardization efforts
- Lead department meetings, employee performance reviews, and development activities
Requirements
- Certified skilled tradesperson (Millwright or Industrial Electrician)
- 5–7 years of skilled trades experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, automation, and plant services
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Exceptional safety record and strong safety-first mindset
- Experience supporting preventative maintenance and equipment reliability programs
- Ability to manage multiple shifts, overtime, and inter-plant support
- Strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and communication skills
- Automotive manufacturing experience considered an asset
- Willingness to complete supervisor or team leader competency training
