Our Client is a prominent Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineering firm with a strong presence in the local Toronto space. Their engineering services division has grown to serve a selective and loyal client base. Their office in downtown Toronto is currently seeking a talented electrical project engineer to join their growing team.
Your new role
- Participates in large project teams and manages assignments within overall project framework
- Engineering calculations including building electrical load calculations, fire alarm system, lighting calculation, security design, AV system design
- Participates and rmends in the system protection, lighting fixture selection
- Prepares technical specifications for tender and installation
- Co-ordinates electrical design with external consultants and Architects
- Provides follow-up assistance during construction activities
- Performs detailed site surveys
- Attend design meeting with clients with the support of senior engineer
- Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time
- Strong confidence on electrical work for client facing situation (design meetings, site meetings)
- Manage junior staff and assign tasks
- Write Proposals and Provide Project cost estimate
- Provide drawing review
- Able to work without supervision
What you'll need to succeed
5+ Years of experience in the Buildings Electrical Engineering industry.Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) in good standing with the PEOBachelors Degree in Applied Science (Electrical Engineering)Experience with Revit softwareStrong understanding of engineering theory including Single phase & three phase systems, Transformers, Electrical Protection, Power Systems, Fault Analysis, Electrical Distribution systemSuperior time management skills. Candidate will work on multiple projects for multiple supervisors with specific time allotments for each.Excellentmunications skills. Candidate mustmunicate professionally and effectively with clients, contractors, peer consultants and fellow employees through various formal documents, email, on the phone and in person.Strong team player and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be involved in teams of various sizes and work with people from various professions and background including, but not limited to : architects, engineers, project managers, CAD staff, contractors and inspectors. Candidate must be able to organize and coordinate work between team members and keep the project moving forward.Be able to work efficiently under varying amounts of supervision. Candidate will be responsible for accuracy and quality of assigned work and its timely delivery.What you'll get in return
