The Role :

Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for a Safety Service Apprentice Technician to join our operations based in Vancouver. As a  Fire Safety Service Technician , you’ll play a key role in maintaining and servicing essential fire safety equipment. Reporting to the Fire Safety Service Supervisor, you'll be responsible for hands-on tasks such as servicing fire extinguishers, hydro testing, filling compressed gas cylinders, and supporting our team in the shop and field.

Key responsibilities for the  Fire Safety Service Technician  role include but are not limited to :

  • Service and Repair : Perform service and repair work on fire safety equipment, including inspecting customer goods, generating work orders, pulling parts, and documenting work for accurate billing.
  • Documentation : Keep precise service records, ensuring smooth communication between the service team and administrative staff.
  • Shop and Field Support : Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist road-based technicians in the field as needed.
  • Quality Control : Log all service activities in electronic or paper records, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration : Report any service quality or safety concerns to the Supervisor and assist in maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicles.

About You : Essential criteria :

  • Mechanically Inclined : If you have a strong interest in working with your hands and a knack for problem-solving, we want you on our team!
  • Entry-Level Talent : No experience in fire safety? No problem! We’re looking for someone who’s excited to learn and grow in this industry.
  • Physically Fit : Some heavy lifting will be required, so being physically fit is important.
  • Team Player : We value a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. You'll be working closely with others, so teamwork is key.
  • Certification (Optional) : ASTT certification in fire extinguishers is an asset, but not required.
  • Driver’s License : A valid driver’s license is needed to drive company vehicles.
