Asphalt Plant OperatorBatcher

Tomlinson is currently seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator/Batcher to work at our Asphalt plants in the Ottawa area.

Vacancy Type: Replacement

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support daily asphalt production by assisting with routine activities.
• Monitor asphalt plant performance to ensure safe efficient and continuous operations.
• Safely receive and unload deliveries of liquid asphalt following established procedures.
• Perform mechanical tasks including inspecting maintaining and repairing bearings belts and related equipment.
• Assist with ongoing plant maintenance to support reliability and reduce downtime.
• Carry out additional duties at the asphalt plant as needed and directed by supervisors.

REQUIRMENTS

• Some experience as a general labourer may be required.
• Mechanical knowledge.
• Specific asphalt training.
• Welding experience is an asset.
• Batching knowledge is required.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected hourly income is between $32 - $37 per hour. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working in an asphalt plant environment dusty staining from asphalt residue loud etc.
• Exposure to the elements.
• Regular work shifts are 10 - 12 hour days.
• Requires some extended shifts night work and weekend work.
• Some physical work lifting bending crouching etc.
• Working at heights.
