Summary
The main responsibility of the Health & Safety Specialist is to encourage and ensure the continuous improvement of Health and Safety performance by regular auditing, producing actions plans, identifying key risks, producing reports and working with operations leaders to ensure full compliance.
You will provide advice and guidance on Health & Safety matters across the organization and with our Agency Partners; study accident trends from near miss information and target areas for improvement; deliver Health and Safety training, and work with the operations team on specific projects.

Primary Responsibilities
Ensure Occupational Health and Safety compliance with health and safety laws and regulationsBe available to resolve issues and spend time coaching on the production floorProvide advice regarding the development of safe and healthy practicesBe up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all H&S legislation and any developments that affect fgfAssist in the investigation and resolution of incidents including root-cause analysis and provide probable causes of incidents and recommendations for resolution and appropriate corrective and preventative measure.Attend all JHSC meetings facilitated by the business partner as an AdvisorWork with our agency partners to share best practices related to H&S and jointly manage the return to work programCoordinates the implementation of corrective and preventative measuresAssist with incident investigations, near miss reporting, job hazard analysis and recommend actions in order to ensure complianceAssists in the identification and analysis of trends. Communicates observations and provides suggestions for incident reduction measuresInvestigate / research; recommend and implement Health & Safety Best PracticesProduce statistics for leaders regarding accidentsUndertake risk assessments, site inspections and identify potential hazardsLead in-house training with operations team to address health and safety issues and risks and transfer knowledgeManage the Workers’ Compensation program, claims and modified return to work programSchedule appointments with injured / ill team members to understand their requirementsWork with department leaders and T&D Business Partners to determine alternate duties, and return schedulesRequired Experience
Minimum 5 years related experience in a similar roleExcellent interpersonal / communication skillsProven competency in fostering a Health & Safety environmentManufacturing experience requiredValid Drivers license and vehicleWhat is the recipe for a great career at FGF?
