Delivery Truck Driver

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of structural steel and related materials. This is a full-time position, working Mondays - Fridays. The role involves operating a single freightliner truck and other equipment, including a picker truck.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain excellent attendance record
• Safely operate company trucks and equipment, including a picker truck, to transport materials as required.
• Load, transport, and deliver items to clients in a safe and timely manner
• Complete accurate daily logs per trip (to be recorded via the motive app)
• Complete daily pre-use inspections of equipment
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete
• Manage pick up and load delivery paperwork accordingly
• Assist with loading and unloading
• Adhere to assigned routes and follow delivery and pick up schedules
• Abide by all transportation laws i.e. log book, load securement and load checks
• Maintain a safe driving record
• Safe operation of overhead crane and mobile equipment for material movement

Requirements/Qualifications

• Class 1 license
• Previous experience operating a picker truck is required.
• Clean drivers abstract
• Ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights
• Must have good time management, organization and people skills
• Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Sitting for long periods of time
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English clearly
• Possess problem solving skills
• Mechanically inclined, ability to perform light maintenance and repairs to truck and trailer

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

• Active participation in company safety program
• Follow safety protocol including wearing of required PPE and understanding and application of safety policies, procedures and practices

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $28.00-$34.00 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role. We appreciate dedication and commitment, and we conduct thorough performance reviews after three months and annually to acknowledge outstanding work and support employee growth.
