Staff Scheduling Coordinator - Permanent Part-Time

Role
As a Scheduling Coordinator at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare you will ensure the required staff are scheduled and that all payroll scheduling details are recorded in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with collective agreements and hospital policies. This role splits time between our Bracebridge and Huntsville hospital sites and is an on-site role. Key duties include :
- Scheduling 800 employees for multiple shifts in a scheduling period across 2 hospitals, avoiding premium pay situations when possible
- Entering payroll data to match shifts worked by employees
- Daily collaboration with Clinical Leaders to fulfill departmental staffing and payroll needs
- Adhering closely to the scheduling requirements of all collective agreements
- Contacting employees to fill last‑minute shift vacancies by phone, email, and text
- Compiling data, providing statistics, and problem‑solving staffing issues with little direct supervision
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years recent scheduling experience in a unionized environment, preferably healthcareAbility to create master rotations and scheduling templates for multiple departments with consideration to fiscal responsibilityKnowledge of Collective Agreements with the ability to interpret key languageDemonstrated initiative and attention to detail in a high‑volume, busy work environment requiring flexibility and adaptabilityWell‑developed written and verbal communication skills with ability to de‑escalate issuesProficient computer skills with experience in scheduling / payroll software and Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with hospital and staffing patterns and rolesDemonstrate appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentialityAdditional Perks

Multi‑site; working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125 km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting.
Exceptions will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.Hours of Work : 8‑hour shifts. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
