On behalf of our client, Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Finishing Superintendent who will oversee the final phases of residential, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects, ensuring all finishing work is completed on time, within budget, and to the quality standards specified in the project plans. This includes managing trades, coordinating schedules, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Management :

Supervise and coordinate all on-site finishing activities, including drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, millwork, and other interior trades.

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure proper execution of finishing tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of the project.

Quality Control :

Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

  • Address deficiencies and ensure corrections are made promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and project specifications.

    • Team Leadership :

    Manage and supervise subcontractors and trades on-site.

  • Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Provide direction and support to ensure project milestones are met.

    • Schedule Management :

    Create and maintain detailed schedules for all finishing trades.

  • Ensure work is completed on time and communicate any potential delays to the project team.

    • Health & Safety :

    Ensure that all trades follow site safety protocols and that safety regulations are enforced.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.

    • Client Relations :

    Communicate regularly with clients or stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns related to finishes.

    Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, with a focus on interior finishes.
  • Strong knowledge of various finishing trades (drywall, flooring, cabinetry, etc.).
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects, particularly high-rise or multi-unit residential developments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
