Mechanical Engineer (Contract) – ORO Design & Manufacturing Ltd.

Job Details

The mechanical engineer contract position supports the development of new products for the mobile equipment market, working on all stages from concept to design to documentation and finally to production. Drawing on extensive experience in mechanical design and fluid power, the role focuses on design, drafting, and structural analysis (FEA) using Ansys, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, and Nastran. The candidate will also have a solid understanding of all aspects of metal fabrication and assembly processes, and how to optimize designs for efficient production. 12‑month contract, potential extension of 12 months.

Job Duties

• Design, detail, and review hydraulic equipment and machinery for use in the field service industry
• Review structural designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and make improvements where required
• Prepare drawings and other documentation for use in the manufacturing process
• Design fixtures and production tooling to scale up production
• Maintain BOMs and other information in an ERP database
• Identify, recommend, and implement design improvements to improve the efficiency of manufacturing

Wage will be negotiated based on skill and experience. Salary : $65,000 per year, full‑time, in person in Oro‑Medonte, ON.
