Cannabis Product Consultants at BC Cannabis Stores, operated by the LDB, are cannabis subject matter experts for both customers and staff and the first point of contact in developing customer relationships.
Through excellent, friendly customer service, they cultivate relationships with customers built on knowledge and trust.
The person in this role must demonstrate a passion for transferring the knowledge of, and selling of, cannabis products. This role requires an individual who has excellent communication skills, is enthusiastic, and has a willingness to learn, train others and achieve results.

Please note : Auxiliary Cannabis Consultants work on an on-call, as-needed basis through a daily recall system. Hours of work are not guaranteed and subject to availability.
Some auxiliary employees may not initially work a full 35-hour work week, but with more hours worked and more seniority gained, more opportunities for more hours of work will follow.

Education and Experience :
A minimum of one year of recent (within the last five years), related experience working in a sales environment with a high level of customer interaction is required.
A Selling It Right certification is required prior to the first day of work. The successful candidate is responsible for completing the self-directed Selling It Right course facilitated by the Responsible Service of BC branch of government prior to reporting into work on the first day as a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications include :
- Basic cannabis knowledge demonstrated through experience in the cannabis industry or through courses from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Experience in a retail environment.
- Experience working with a computerized retail system, including Point of Sale and Inventory Management applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in delivering an Omni-channel / consumer experience.
- Diploma or certificate in business or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Auxiliary Cannabis Product Consultants earn $26.0731 hourly plus 6% of regular earnings in lieu of vacation and an additional $0.
91 per working hour, up to a maximum of $63.70 per biweekly pay period in lieu of health and welfare benefits.
